Frequently Asked Questions

What is Tuck Black Ski?

Tuck Black Ski is an annual ski trip designed to bring together MBAs, other grad students, alums, and young professionals for a weekend full of connections, skiing, and celebration. It’s hosted by the Black Students Association at Tuck (BSAT) from Dartmouth College. Last year, we had over 400 attendees and are looking forward to an even larger turnout for 2027! This year, we will be in Park City, UT!

Is Tuck Black Ski only for Black attendees?

Not at all - TBS is open to everyone, regardless of race and ethnicity.

What is Upper Valley Ski Co. (UVSC)?

UVSC is an organization that coordinates ski trips and events for large groups. They manage lodging, events, insurance, registration, and more for the trip.

When and where can I purchase my tickets?

Tickets will be available in June 2026.

What is the role of a School Lead, and when will they be announced?

We will announce the first group of school leads via email and Instagram by 8/1. A School Lead plays a crucial role in coordinating participants from their school. Responsibilities include:

  1. Promoting the event within your school community and on social media.

  2. Organizing group logistics.

  3. Serving as the main point of contact between participants and the organizing team.

School leads will be announced on a rolling basis as participants sign up. The number of school leads per school will depend on the number of participants from each school. For schools with less than 5 attendees, we will combine groups with other smaller schools. Note: You must be registered and have selected 'Yes' on the School Lead question during registration to be considered for a school lead position.

What are the package options?

This year, we aim to offer flexibility with two package options: a Full Trip Package (housing + social) and a Social-Only Package.

  • Full Trip Package: Includes lodging and access to all Tuck Black Ski events.

  • Social-Only Package: Includes access to all Tuck Black Ski events.

Note: Airfare, transportation to and from Salt Lake City (SLC), ski lift passes, and gear rental are not included. However, you can add ski lift passes and gear rental for an additional fee through the registration portal.

Will tickets be sold at the door for events?

Unfortunately, not. You will have to purchase a Full OR Social-Only Package to access any of the events. There will be no exceptions.

How do I register a partner/friend?

Everyone must register individually. Have your partner/friend register themselves once tickets are live.

Do I have to pay everything all at once?

No. Payment plans are available to split the package cost into installments. Payment plan options will be available within the registration portal.

Are you coordinating group ski lessons for everyone?

UVSC has provided some options that are available to purchase on the portal. Our team will try to coordinate ski groups based on skill level at a later date if there is interest. In the meantime, you and your friends are more than welcome to coordinate ski / snowboard activities yourselves.

I signed up. Who am I rooming with?

Roommate signups will launch in December. Final room / roommate assignments will be sent to all registrants via email after the holidays! If you missed signups, you will be randomly placed. If you have any questions or concerns, email tuckblackskiweekend@gmail.com, and we will try our best to accommodate your preferences!
